Remote connection (recommended for web and mobile)
Requires no local installation — the agent connects directly to https://mcp.firmaradar.no/mcp/. The only prerequisite: a field for "Custom Connector"/"Custom MCP server" in the client.
Streamable HTTP
Claude Web + Claude mobile (Android / iOS)
Requires an Anthropic Pro/Team account with Connector access.
- Open Claude → Settings → Connectors (web) or Settings → Connectors (mobile)
- Choose Add custom connector
- Server URL:
https://mcp.firmaradar.no/mcp/
- Auth: Bearer token → paste your Firmaradar API key

Streamable HTTP
ChatGPT (Custom Connectors)
Requires ChatGPT Plus/Team/Enterprise with Connectors functionality enabled.
- Settings → Connectors → Create new connector
- Type: Custom MCP server
- URL:
https://mcp.firmaradar.no/mcp/
- Authentication: Bearer token (paste API key)
- Save and enable for the desired projects
Streamable HTTP
Cursor (remote MCP)
Cursor supports both stdio and remote — use remote to avoid local installation.
Add to .cursor/mcp.json (or globally ~/.cursor/mcp.json):
{
"mcpServers": {
"firmaradar": {
"url": "https://mcp.firmaradar.no/mcp/",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer DIN_API_NØKKEL"
}
}
}
}
Local stdio (CLI agents)
Runs the firmaradar-mcp process locally on your machine via the PyPI or npm package. Best performance — zero network hops beyond the actual data calls.
stdio
Claude Desktop
Anthropic's official desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux.
- Install the package:
pip install firmaradar-mcp (or uvx firmaradar-mcp)
- Open
~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS) or the equivalent on Windows/Linux
- Add:
{
"mcpServers": {
"firmaradar": {
"command": "python",
"args": ["-m", "firmaradar_mcp.server"],
"env": {
"FIRMARADAR_API_KEY": "DIN_API_NØKKEL",
"FIRMARADAR_API_BASE_URL": "https://firmaradar.no"
}
}
}
}
stdio
Claude Code (CLI)
Anthropic's terminal-based agent — the claude command.
claude mcp add firmaradar \
--command python \
--args "-m firmaradar_mcp.server" \
--env FIRMARADAR_API_KEY=DIN_API_NØKKEL \
--env FIRMARADAR_API_BASE_URL=https://firmaradar.no
Verify with claude mcp list — you should see firmaradar: ✓ Connected.
stdio
Codex CLI (OpenAI)
OpenAI's terminal agent codex.
Add to ~/.codex/config.toml:
[mcp_servers.firmaradar]
command = "python"
args = ["-m", "firmaradar_mcp.server"]
[mcp_servers.firmaradar.env]
FIRMARADAR_API_KEY = "DIN_API_NØKKEL"
FIRMARADAR_API_BASE_URL = "https://firmaradar.no"
stdio
Gemini CLI (Google)
Google's terminal agent gemini.
Add to ~/.gemini/settings.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"firmaradar": {
"command": "python",
"args": ["-m", "firmaradar_mcp.server"],
"env": {
"FIRMARADAR_API_KEY": "DIN_API_NØKKEL",
"FIRMARADAR_API_BASE_URL": "https://firmaradar.no"
}
}
}
}
stdio
Cursor (local stdio)
Alternative to Cursor's remote mode — run the package locally.
{
"mcpServers": {
"firmaradar": {
"command": "python",
"args": ["-m", "firmaradar_mcp.server"],
"env": {
"FIRMARADAR_API_KEY": "DIN_API_NØKKEL"
}
}
}
}
Verify that it works
In the agent client, try one of these:
- "Look up Equinor ASA and tell me what the group structure is."
- "Run an AML/PEP screening on Vladimir Putin."
- "Which companies share an address with ZERO FIVE AS?"
When the agent calls a Firmaradar tool you typically see an icon or a notice in the client — for example firmaradar_search_companies or firmaradar_check_aml_pep.
Help and troubleshooting
- 401 Unauthorized — check that the API key is valid under API keys
- 429 Too Many Requests — you have hit the quota limit. Check usage under API keys
- Connector failed to connect — verify that the URL is
https://mcp.firmaradar.no/mcp/ (with trailing slash)
